They give you this amazing chance to reflect and plan.  Think about what you would like to change, and make a plan and stick to it......yeah, right.
If I could plan out and stick to tomorrow I would be amazed.  One thing I've learned from my kiddies is that change happens.  Man plans and God laughs.
I will try and eat healthier, as we all will.  I will try and not overspend....etc.  I read an article that said right them down, post on the fridge so you will feel accountable.  I would feel more like not going near the fridge if I did not live up to "the list".  Wait, that may work for  the plan to loose weight.
I would like to make a "Family Plan" one of those lovely family contracts that the Psch Dr's suggest.  They always sound so wonderful. With a house full of ADHD'ers, we do most things outside the normal sphere.  My DH laughs that I am in the wrong family for such a thing. 
The one thing I will plan and stick with is to be My Kids Mom.  Be the best at that and raise them up right.
