Parenthood

I am watching this Parenthood show.  Reminds me of 30 Something, which I did not get because I was not near 30 when it came out.  But this show I can relate to.  I have kids, married into a huge family and have a wonderful son with Aspergers. A few other things as well, little OCD, ADHD just a really nest kid. I did no know going in that they would be addressing this topic, but I am glad they are.  Better yet, so far they are doing it well.
Of course, I would have loved to have found out, been sent to a great doctor and put into a super tough to get into school in a matter of weeks, but it does address the challenges faced.  Of course, I too would have loved to wrap it up in a matter of hours.

This past episode, they touched on the sister's point of view. My daughter loves her brother.  She knows he is quirky, but that is OK.  He may embarrass her in public.  OK, not may...he does at times. She deals with his therapy as he has dealt with hers (Dyslexic)  I am sure she feels the same as the daughter in Parenthood.  I am sure she "knew" before we did.  She is much more understanding of a younger brother than most sister's would ever be.
